Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2019

“Each one of us is the king or queen of our own lives!” declared Domenico Dolce. With different personalities, we saw more than a fashion collection:, we saw the essence of fashion, a celebration of identity expression by Dolce & Gabbana. Not only were we focused on the garments, but on the faces, with multiple smiles along the runway.  A variety of prints, textures, volumes, and some Latin influence made the collection. A floral blazer and trouser set, golden and black mini skirt with white blouse, black over-the-shoulder midi dress, and white blouse with floral details and skirt with fringes were some looks that, even though they are very stylish, fall into were ready-to-wear. Other outfits were too edgy, with a mix of extravagant prints and textures and extreme volume that require a daring style and the right appropriate occasion to be well worn. However, if we’re not inspired by the entire outfit, Dolce & Gabbana gave us thought-provoking pieces to play with. The extreme volume created by ruffles seen in some dresses can be used only in one part of the body, a ruffled blouse with a lapis skirt, for example. The beautiful extravagant prints can be paired with items without prints, able to produce a great look that can be office ready. In the accessories, big floral arrangements kept our attention. Embellishing your hairstyle with some not-so-big floral references can also incorporate some of Dolce & Gabbana’s style into your spring. Even as not completely ready-to-wear, the collection was true to the firm’s signature of always bringing character in the form of big fashion statements – an invitation to dare a little more.
