“Inspiration comes from space because there is so much depressing news every day, we need some kind of escape and some kind of hope.” Indeed, the collection was cheerful and sophisticated with gorgeous options to party all summer long. With chiffon, lace, and lurex in off-the-shoulder, tea-length, and long versions, the collection had a classy silhouette but endearing colors and prints. Shoji’s galaxy is full of stars on blue, black, purple, and white backgrounds, and a couple of dresses that are a visual ode to the aurora borealis. On a night out, you can wear the deep green metallic dress with long sleeves or the spaghetti-strap dress in green and blue that is anything but your nineties spaghetti-strap dress. If you want an astonishing look to wear at a wedding, for example, the galaxy dress in black and blue with open slit sleeves and plunging neckline will truly make you elegantly stand out—tip: this silhouette makes you look taller, despite being a long dress. You can close your eyes and choose any dress from Shoji’s collection and you’ll feel and express the regal personality you have. And if all this gorgeousness wasn’t enough, the black lace tea-length dress full of moons and stars can be a fancy workwear choice for office hours.
