Yohji Yamamoto Spring/Summer 2019

Draping, layering, loose silhouette, and unexpected sexy details constituted Yamamoto’s collection. Minimalist ensembles with intricate lines in the composition, the looks had something provocative with plunging necklines, slits, and a few sheer details. The cropped blazer with draped long skirt all in black was a good example of modern sexy outfits by Yamamoto. Artistic and well crafted, the collection brought concepts but lacked ready-to-wear outfits. If you adjust this minimalistic sexy concept explored by Yamamoto into your style you can avoid too many slits with layering and achieve nice street style looks. In general, the collection wasn’t very appealing. Probably the best outfit was the last one: a draped black skirt with an over-the-shoulder white blouse. A well-built, but slightly boring spring collection.
