Justin Alexander Spring/Summer 2019

According to Justin Alexander, his brand is made for brides with a vintage appeal and a modern edge. True to their signature, the summer collection presented gorgeous options for the modern sophisticated bride. There are gowns for almost all types of ceremonies that are in syntony with the theme of the firm, and all of them are worthy of consideration. Short dresses, capes, pant suits and trench coats, column dresses, a-line gowns, mermaids, jumpsuits, geometricals, sweethearts, flare, and bomber jackets made the runway a space for beautiful, elegant, young, and sophisticated brides to find the right inspiration for the big day—but also for formal events. There were a few edgy looks: the beaded bikini with bomber jacket and transparent tulle skirt, and the geometric lace jumpsuit with detachable train were more contemporary options without losing in astonishment. In addition, the less overstrung gowns didn’t disappoint. The linear geometric sequined lace fit-and-flare dress revealed a perfect alternative to a more fitted and sexier gown, while the exposed-zipper illusion back dress blended elegance with a pinch of modern. Lace, transparency, and bling—most of the gown styles (from mermaid to oversized) were available in Justin Alexander’s summer collection. If something was missing, it would be a wider color palette. In the future, I would like to see him expand into nudes and ivories.
