Juun J. Spring/Summer 2019
Pieces full of volume, as well as a few yellow garments and plaids mixed with sportswear, comprised Juun J.’s summer collection. Oversized shirts and blazers plus calf-length mac coats indicates that Juun J.’s summer was rainy, instead of full of sunshine and cocktails. Black, white, silver, and plaid abounded in the collection. The mac coats aren’t the most flattering piece, but it’s definitely a works-for-everyone kind of coat. Sneakers, heels, and trucker hats gave the outfits a balance between formality and activewear. The matching plaid blazer with trousers—under a midi skirt with a different plaid pattern—worn with a leather trucker hat and silver fanny pack worn as a handbag was one of the most interesting ensembles. Not completely sporty or sophisticated, this look showed what Juun J. does the best: volume without losing the silhouette. If you like the idea of sportswear and mac coats, this collection has a lot to offer. However, the summer feeling was lost in the midst of all of the volume—instead of more exploration of colors and prints, most of the looks were volumized with extra length and juxtaposition.
